PhD on 'Palmar Dermatoglyphics In Genodermatoses'
and awarded PhD in
1982 from Madras University.
Underwent Training for one week at Tamil Nadu Fingerprint Bureau with special permission from the Government of Tamil Nadu to learn the proper technique for taking the palm and fingerprints and later their qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Given a guest lecture ‘An Analytical study of 40 cases of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis’ at IADVL Conference in Gulbarga in1992 based on my brief research at Abha , KSA which was an endemic area for Cutaneous Leishmaniasis.

Special Interests: Clinical Dermatology and Dermatopathology.
Underwent ‘Visitor- Observer Course’ at ‘Norman Institute of Pathology,’ CMC Hospital, Vellore in Feb 1977.
For Techniques of Sectioning, routine H&E and Special stains. Attended Cyto Genetic section for ‘Chromosome study’ which was quite interesting.
Participated in Dermatopathology workshops conducted by Prof. L.K. Bhutani at AIIMS, New Delhi in1980 and earlier.

- Palmar freckles’- an important cutaneous sign in Neurofibromatosis was first reported in her PhD thesis, 1982. Page 159.
- ‘Reverse Namaskar’-a new sign in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in IJD, 2010. Published more than 90 articles – National (more than 60) and International journals (30 )
Eleven of her publications have been quoted as references in Text books of Dermatology of International Standard by Moschella, Rook, Joseph Demis. Histopathology of Skin by Lever and Systemic Pathology – Skin by David Weedon.
